1.       To make your own sound on windows, you need to log in as administrator.

2.       First of all click on START >> CONTROL PANEL >> SOUNDS AND AUDIO DEVICES. 

3.       Now a dialog box will with name sounds and audio devices, now select the SOUND TAB and find the pull down menu under sound scheme. Now select the window default scheme and click on OK to save old sound scheme. 

4.       Now you will see a dialog box namely Save Scheme As, so type the new name for your favorite scheme and click on OK. 

5.       Now under the labeled "Program events" select the event and click on Browse button to add new sound file from Windows Media folder (The default path of windows media folder is C:\Windows\Media).

 6.       Now you have created a customized sound scheme with your favorite's sounds for different events.

 7.       Now press on OK to load your own sound.
